New Products

  • Air Release for Wet Sprinkler Systems  (AR-1) is Now Factory Mutual (FM) Approved – UNITED Fire Systems is proud to announce that our Model AR-1 Wet Sprinkler System Air Release Device for wet sprinkler systems is now FM Approved! This device is now required by NFPA Standard 13 on all new wet fire sprinkler systems. The device releases the air from the high point(s) of the system, but prevents water from coming out of the device. Eliminating the air pockets reduces internal pipe corrosion and lengthens the life of the system. An updated Data Sheet and Instruction Sheet for the AR-1 have both been released and are now available to download. Click here to learn more…
  • True Advanced Purge (TAP) – UNITED Fire Systems is proud to announce the release of our new True Advanced Purge (TAP), designed to automatically purge air from within a dry-pipe or preaction sprinkler system and replace the air with 98% nitrogen from a NITROGEN-PAC™ sprinkler corrosion inhibiting system. Technical Notes from UNITED Fire Systems

  1. April 2018 – Technical Note UFS-18-02B– We have also experienced numerous instances of electricians trying to wire additional horn strobes to our Boston-version STANDPIPE-PACS, and missing things or causing damage that requires a service call. What we have come to realize is that most of the electricians performing this work have limited low-voltage experience, and may never have worked on fire alarm before. Technical Note UFS-18-02B has been created to address these issues and provides step-by-step instructions that can help electricians perform this work properly. Click here to learn more…
  2. January 2018 – Technical Note UFS-18-02N– We have experienced numerous instances of electricians trying to wire additional horns to STANDPIPE-PACS, and missing things or causing damage that requires a service call. What we have come to realize is that most of the electricians performing this work have limited low-voltage experience, and may never have worked on fire alarm before. Technical Note UFS-18-02N has been created to address these issues and provides step-by-step instructions that can help electricians perform this work properly. Click here to learn more…
  3. January 2018 – Technical Note UFS-18-01– Last month, we issued Technical Note UFS-17-07 regarding operation of STANDPIPE-PAC in cold weather. Further discussion with several technicians identified that far too many dry standpipe installations are not set up for proper drainage, both of naturally-occurring condensate and water used for hydrostatic testing. Technical Note UFS-18-01 provides information for installers and inspectors to make sure a main drain is installed and used on the dry standpipe, and also information on setting up a condensate drain near the STANDPIPE-PAC outlet. Click here to learn more…
  4. December 2017 – Technical Note UFS-17-07 – This Technical Note has been released to make users aware of some difficulties involving the operation of STANDPIPE-PAC in cold weather and to provide important information for users during these cold weather periods. Click here to learn more…
  5. May 2017 – Technical Note UFS-17-05 – This Technical Note has been released in hopes to clarify some of the misunderstandings regarding the supervisory pressure requirements for standpipe systems in New York City and addresses how STANDPIPE-PAC provides compliance. Click here to learn more…
  6. February 2017 – Technical Note UFS-17-03– This Technical Note covers sprinkler air and nitrogen requirements in NFPA Standards. Provide this Technical Note to any user that has questions about sprinkler air and nitrogen requirements in NFPA Standards. Click here to learn more…
  7. January 2017 – Technical Note UFS-17-01covers oil “leakage” from NITROGEN-PAC™ M Series Compressor / Tank Assemblies (CTAs). Provide this Technical Note to any user that has a concern about oil appearing on or around their CTA – Technical Note – Nitrogen-Pac – Oil & Compressors – UFS-17-01 Rev 1.00

Did You Know?
  • Your wet-pipe sprinkler system may not be as filled with water as you expect it to be. A bubble of air may migrate to the highest point in the system, creating a very vulnerable location for internal pipe corrosion. That’s why NFPA 13 now requires that all new wet sprinkler systems be fitted with an air vent at the system’s highest point. This is a good investment for both new and existing systems. The UNITED Fire Systems Model AR-1 automatic air release device is Factory Mutual (FM) Approved for just this function. See here for more information, and take action to prevent damaging corrosion.
